Bluestone Announces Con-way Move to Earhart Corporate Center

On December 12, 2007, Con-way Freight Inc. President, John G. Labrie, informed the Ann Arbor Business Review that the $3 billion company will be consolidating its Pittsfield Township-based headquarters in Ann Arbor Township and expects to add 120 employees. Con-way had considered other locations, but because of location and building amenities, Con-way will become the primary tenant of the Earhart Corporate Center located on 2211 Old Earhart Raod, a 200,000-square-foot facility east of US-23, just off of Plymouth Road. Bluestone’s
president, Neal Warling, brokered the deal for the Kojaian Company, who completed the three-story building in 2006.
Con-way Freight, a trucking services company, is consolidating operations currently split among three buildings in Ann Arbor. At present, Conway is headquartered on Venture Drive near the Ann Arbor Municipal Airport. Labrie said Con-way expects to make the move in June. The company will occupy about 120,000 square feet of the building.
Con-way's decision to add employees comes after the company consolidated three of its operations into one. Earlier this year the company combined Con-way Freight-Central, Con-way Freight-Southern and Con-way Freight-Western into a single operation, Con-way Freight Inc. "It just made good sense to consolidate our back office functions here," Labrie said. "It's also pretty centrally located relative to our customer base and gives us easy access to customers and employees throughout the country."
